Everyone watching NFL Network on Saturday had the opportunity to catch their first glimpse of Justin Fields in an NFL uniform. The first-round pick and former Ohio State star was under center in a Chicago Bears jersey for the first time.

It wasn’t a great start for the rookie quarterback, completing just 2-of-6 passes for 10 yards to open the game. After that, Fields got on a role.

Fields ended the contest completing 14-of-20 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed 5 times for 33 yards and an additional score in Chicago’s 20-13 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Opposing quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had a first-hand look at Fields’ performance. He was impressed with the rookie gunslinger.

Yeah, I think he did good,” Tagovailoa said after the game. “(A) little tough in the beginning, first couple (of) series, but you could see (he) kind of found his rhythm throughout the game, kept playing, stayed in there. I mean, he’s good. He’s a good dual threat quarterback too. He can stay in the pocket and throw on the run, run the ball like we’ve seen. But yeah I thought he did really good. I wish him the best.”

Tagovailoa finished the game throwing for 99 yards on 8-of-11 attempts. He had 1 interception and no touchdowns.

Despite the rocky start, Fields turned some heads on Saturday afternoon. He’ll be back in action next Saturday, when the Bears host Buffalo.
