Believe it or not, Tulane used to have a mighty football team.
Fans may or may not know that the Green Wave were one of the original charter members of the Southeastern Conference. In fact, Tulane captured 3 SEC Championships, though the most recent one came in 1949.
Now, Tulane is turning back to the clock in Week 3 for a road trip vs. SEC West foe Ole Miss. Those two schools have their own storied history with Ole Miss holding a 41-28 all-time edge in the series, but the two sides have not faced off since an Ole Miss victory (now vacated) in 2012.
For Saturday’s contest, Tulane is bringing back an SEC-era look for its uniform, featuring the mascot “Greenie.” For fans of college football, this look is pure nostalgia and is bound to look even better on the field.
