Each year, the George Munger Collegiate Coach of the Year Award is given to the top coach in college football. The six finalists were announced Monday, and one-third of the finalists come from the Big Ten:

Ohio State’s Ryan Day is a first-year head coach for the Buckeyes, while P.J. Fleck is in his third season at Minnesota. Day has his Buckeyes in the College Football Playoff, while Fleck went 10-2 this season and has guided the Golden Gophers to the Outback Bowl to take on the Auburn Tigers.
Fleck has put together a 22-15 overall record so far at Minnesota and has gone 17-8 the last two seasons. Day is still unbeaten as a head coach, going 16-0 at Ohio State dating back to his three-game stint a season ago.
