Two more bowl games have been canceled because of concerns over COVID-19.

Action Network’s Brett McMurphy reported on Sunday morning that the Fenway Bowl between Virginia and SMU has been canceled because of COVID-19 concerns within the Cavaliers football program. That was the first game to be called off on Sunday.

Not long after, McMurphy also reported that the Military Bowl featuring Boston College and East Carolina has also been canceled. Boston College is reportedly dealing with COVID-19 concerns, as well.

That makes three bowl games that have been called off because of COVID-19 concerns. The Hawai’i Bowl was not played on Christmas Eve because of issues with the virus within the Hawai’i football program.

Last season, 18 bowl games were canceled because of the pandemic.
