Ty Fryfogle keeps Indiana alive with huge catch, TD vs. Ohio State

Ty Fryfogle had a monster game against Ohio State, the Indiana wide receiver making a statement if there ever was one.
His seventh catch of the game, early in the fourth quarter, not only gave him a gaudy 223-receiving yards but was a moment that pushed the senior onto the national stage. The 56-yard touchdown pass from Michael Penix Jr. to Fryfogle was pure brilliance on the part of the Indiana star.
The play happened with 10:26 left in the fourth quarter and No. 9 Indiana down 42-28 to No. 3 Ohio State.

On a go-route with Fryfogle having an outside release, Shaun Wade, the Ohio State senior defensive back, tried to stop Fryfogle with his right arm and then both arms while the ball from Penix was in the air. And then as Fryfogle jumped to catch the ball, Wade, whose back was turned to the ball, attempted to push the Indiana wide receiver to throw off his ascent.
None of that stopped Fryfogle who caught the ball, leaving Wade on the ground and turning on the jets for a 57-yard touchdown pass. He beat sophomore defensive back Marcus Hooker down the field on a play where Fryfogle ended up showcasing both his strength and speed.
Last week, Fryfogle was named the Big Ten’s Offensive Player of the Week following his 11 catches for 200 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-0 win at Michigan State.
His receiving yards against Ohio State set a new career-high. His previous mark was set last week against Michigan State.
