There’s a new all-time leader in the Minnesota record books.

Heading into Minnesota’s Outback Bowl game against Auburn on New Year’s Day, wide receiver Tyler Johnson needed just 19 yards to become the all-time leader in career receiving yards for the Golden Gophers. He broke that record in the first quarter. In the first 15 minutes of the game, Johnson hauled in two catches for 34 yards.

Eric Decker was the previous record holder with 3,119 yards.

Johnson had over 1,000 receiving yards in back-to-back seasons. This year, he totaled 1,114 yards and 11 touchdowns on 74 receptions. Last year, Johnson totaled 1,169 yards and 12 touchdowns on 78 catches.

Rashod Bateman also went over 1,000 receiving yards for the Gophers, as well.

Minnesota finished the regular season with a 10-2 record and is looking for a win over Auburn to get to that 11th win of the season.
