Alabama and Louisville will kick off the 2018 campaign in one of the more anticipated season opening games of the docket. But the Crimson Tide aren’t exactly going to get a champion’s welcome when they arrive at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.

That’s because an Orlando-area lawyer, Chad Barr, is hiring to have a plane fly a banner over the stadium on Saturday night, while No. 1 Alabama is taking on Louisville.

According to College Football Talk, the banner will read: “UCF ’17 CO-NAT’L CHAMPS 13-0 CHADBARRLAW.”

UCF was recently recognized as a co-national champion in 2017 according to the NCAA record book. the discovery was made by a reporter who has covered the program for years. But apparently that recognition didn’t satisfy Barr.

In an interview with WKMG News 6, Barr said he just wants to celebrate UCF’s achievement from last year.

“We specifically chose to put the word ‘co’ in there so that everyone knows that we aren’t taking anything away from what Alabama did,” Barr said. “We are just celebrating our achievement with them.

“This isn’t an advertising scam where I’m taking an advantage for an opportunity… It’s about pushing the brand farther along. So as long as we are in people’s mouth’s, they are talking about UCF, then we are in the picture and that means more than a trophy could ever be.”

There will probably be plenty of Alabama fans in Orlando not only yelling “Roll Tide!” but also rolling their eyes when they see that banner.

Alabama and Louisville will square off at 8pm on Saturday.

On Thursday night, No. 21 UCF opened its season with a 56-17 win over UConn.
