The top player from the state of Michigan is headed to the SEC.

Monday evening, four-star offensive guard Justin Rogers announced his commitment to Kentucky, picking the Wildcats over several other offers. He was considering several major programs, including Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State.

Rogers is ranked as the No. 30 overall player in the 2020 recruiting class and is the highest-ever prospect ever to commit to Kentucky. In addition to be the top-ranked player from Michigan, Rogers is also the No. 1 offensive guard.

Over 40 schools offered Rogers, including 11 B1G teams.

Michigan currently owns the B1G’s fifth-best recruiting class while Michigan State ranks 10th in the conference. Both programs, as well as the conference, missed out on a big-time target.
