Just three weeks into the college football season and we’ve already witnessed one of the wildest finishes of the year.
Friday night’s matchup between UCF and Louisville was an incredibly entertaining matchup full of offense. The game, however, was decided on a big defensive play as time dwindled down in the fourth quarter.
UCF quarterback Dillon Gabriel was hoping to lead his team down the field for a game-winning drive, but one of his final passes was intercepted by Jaylin Alderman, who returned it 66 yards for a touchdown.
It ended up being the game-winning play:

Louisville posted a 42-35 victory to improve to 2-1 on the season. It was the first loss of the year for UCF.
It was a heartbreaking way for the night to end for Gabriel, who completed 21-of-28 pass attempts for 188 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also rushed for 18 yards and had 20 receiving yards, accounting for all 5 of the Knights’ touchdowns.
But it was Alderman’s pick-six that mattered most, and provided us with one of the wildest finishes of the young college football season.
