The critics of Scott Frost are getting louder. After Nebraska’s 30-22 loss to Illinois in Week 0, a game that featured so many of the same mistakes from the previous three seasons, many are left wondering if he’s the right guy for the program.

After suffering another defeat, Frost’s record at Nebraska is 12-21. On Saturday, Frost’s most-talented and most-experienced team was plagued by penalties, two missed extra points and one ill-timed turnover — a scoop-and-score to close the first half.

With Nebraska’s loss on Saturday, Frost’s winning percentage with the program dipped to .363. That’s the second-worst mark in program history, in front of only Bill Jennings (1957-61). At the time FOX showed the statistic below, the Huskers were 12-20:

While life gets a little easier for Nebraska in the next two weeks, playing FCS foe Fordham and MAC opponent Buffalo, the schedule is still incredibly difficult. The Huskers still have a nonconference game against No. 2 Oklahoma and crossover B1G contests against No. 4 Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State.

That’s not even mentioning division games against No. 12 Wisconsin, No. 19 Iowa or defending B1G West champion Northwestern. A lot has to be corrected in a short period of time.

If that doesn’t happen, you have to wonder if Frost’s time in Lincoln is dwindling.
