There’s a special bond between Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford and KJ Hamler, one that dates back to before the days in Happy Valley. When Clifford made the decision to commit to Penn State, he became the biggest recruiter of Hamler.
Right now, the Clifford-to-Hamler combination is proving to be one of the most dangerous in college football, and is a big reason why Penn State is currently 7-0 with marquee wins over Iowa and Michigan.
Clifford and Hamler were at it again on Saturday night, hooking up six times for 108 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-21 win over Michigan. The victory proved that the Nittany Lions are no pretenders and are very much in contention for a B1G title.
After the game, the unique bond between the two was on full display, both after the game while heading to the locker room and in a postgame interview with ESPN’s Maria Taylor. You can tell just how much the two love being on the field together.

It’s one thing to have the talent that Clifford and Hamler possess, but when there’s that bond, it makes the tandem even more dynamic.
Clifford has connected with Hamler 32 times this season for 563 yards and seven touchdowns. Clifford has emerged as one of the top passers in the B1G and Hamler is one of the most explosive receivers in the country.
It’s really cool to see their bond stretches beyond the field.
