On Tuesday, DJ Durkin was back acting as head coach of the Maryland Terrapins.
On Wednesday, he was let go by the university. His time is done.
The quick change was an intriguing one, but players and the media seemed to agree that Durkin needed to go. Following the dismissal of Durkin, University of Maryland president Wallace Loh released a statement:

Loh talked about how he accepted the University System of Maryland Board of Regents’ recommendations. During that meeting, Loh announced that he will be retiring as president in June 2019.
Loh then said in his statement that he met with many people, including the university’s Student Government Association, speaking about their concern regarding Durkin’s return.
Again, everybody seemed to want him out. It took too long, but Durkin is officially done at Maryland — as well as Loh in the coming months.
