Michigan State is up 17-0 early on against Northwestern.
The Spartans have been able to limit the Wildcats’ offense so far in this game, but the the big strike came from Rocky Lombardi.
Lombardi hit receiver Jalen Nailor with this bomb to get the scoring started:

After a Michigan State field goal, Lombardi made it 17-0 early in the second quarter with another touchdown pass to Jayden Reed.
Never too early for an upset alert. 🚨

Lombardi is only 2-for-8 passing so far, but both of his completions have gone for touchdowns.
Michigan State has struggled mightily this season outside of a victory over Michigan in Week 2.
Coming into this game, Lombardi had completed just 57 percent of his passes and had more interceptions (7) than touchdowns (6).
For Northwestern, a loss would be devastating. The Wildcats have a prime opportunity to run the table after starting the season 5-0 with wins over Iowa, Purdue, Maryland and Wisconsin — all teams with winning records.
It’s worth noting Iowa also had a 17-point lead against Northwestern earlier this season, but ended up losing 21-20.
