Saturday was a big day in an umber of ways for Michigan State.
Not only did Sparty gets a win on the road against rival Michigan, head coach Mel Tucker got his first win as the Michigan State head coach. While that might have been enough to celebrate, the Spartans earned another honor for their work on Saturday.

The Football Writers Association of America gives out this award each week. It’s a group comprised of football writers across the country. As mentioned in this tweet, it’s the eighth time Michigan State has won this award and the first time since 2015.
Michigan State truly deserved this award as its Week 2 performance was beyond surprising. The Spartans looked like a disaster in their opener against Rutgers and did a complete 180 in Ann Arbor. Week 3 might give us a better sense of how good Michigan State actually is.
