Ohio State was nearly perfect in 2018.
There was one blip in the radar: a road game against Purdue one Saturday night. Outside of that loss, the Buckeyes went 11-0, put up 62 points on Michigan and its highly-respected defense and then won the Big Ten Championship by 21 over Northwestern.
Quarterback Dwayne Haskins has been fantastic all season long. No matter what defense is in front of him, he has proven that he can shred it to pieces. Ohio State is an incredibly good football team, but they might get out of the Top 4 when all is said and done.
We’ll find out exactly what happens on Sunday, but directly after the 21-point win over Northwestern, Ohio State’s Urban Meyer had this to say to the College Football Playoff committee:
“All you have to look is the body of work. We went on the road and had some tough wins — TCU, Penn State, Michigan State and then to come back and play against our rivals the way we did and then we represented the eastern conference and had a great game here. I think we deserve a shot.”
