The one thing that everyone has wanted to hear out of Urban Meyer from the beginning was an apology to Courtney Smith. It’s something he really hasn’t done for the last month.

While meeting with the press on Monday, Meyer delivered that apology.

When he was asked what he would say to Smith, who was reportedly the victim of Zach Smith’s domestic violence incidents, he spoke about how sorry he was for all that has occurred.

“I’m very sorry. I’m saying it again right now,” Meyer said Monday. “No two children and a wife should go through this. Especially the media circus it has become with families accusing each other of things.”

Meyer has issued indirect apologies over the last month, but none really aimed at Courtney Smith. And over that period of time, he’s received plenty of criticism.

Though he didn’t mention it in his opening remarks, Meyer did issue an apology to Smith and her children, who have endured a lot over the past month.

Meyer’s weekly press conference lasted nearly an hour as he touched on several topics during that time.
