The Ohio State Buckeyes watched as Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield planted the Sooners’ flag at midfield in the aftermath of Saturday’s 31-16 Oklahoma victory in Columbus.
That moment hurt for the Buckeyes, and coach Urban Meyer said that’s exactly how his players should have felt about it.
Speaking on Monday, Meyer said it’s important for his team to pick themselves up and fight back in the coming weeks:
Urban Meyer is here: "You have to go from devastated to crushed to pissed to moving forward. We're somewhere between 2 and 3 right now."

One big reason for Saturday’s loss, Meyer pointed out, was that the Buckeyes’ defense was out of sorts, trying to do each other’s job instead of focusing on what they should have been doing:
Meyer said lot of defensive problems stemmed from guys trying to do others' jobs and then getting victimized as a result.

The Buckeyes have a couple of weeks to get things sorted out on both sides of the ball before they resume Big Ten play against Rutgers on Saturday, Sept. 30.
This weekend, Ohio State hosts Army, and next weekend, the Buckeyes welcome UNLV to Columbus. There are a lot of questions Meyer’s squad needs to answer, but there’s still time to sort things out before the meat of their schedule.
