Urban Meyer knows a thing or 2 about The Game.
The former Ohio State head coach turned B1G Network analyst spoke with Gerry DiNardo this week ahead of 2023’s edition of The Game in Ann Arbor. He explained that the rivalry matchup is a way of life to Ohio State fans, not just a game or a week.
“The rivalry game at Ohio State is the world,” Meyer insisted. “It’s not a big week, it’s not a big month. It’s not a big game, it’s a way of life. So it starts all the way in winter, spring summer et cetera. During game week, it’s a lot different.”
Meyer then went on to specifically describe game week at Ohio State, including the band forming the script Ohio at the indoor facilities, practice with Michigan helmet tape for the scout team to prep players’ mindsets and more.
