During his latest “Urban Analysis” segment on the Big Ten Network with Gerry DiNardo, former Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer dissected the running backs set to be on display in Saturday’s B1G Championship Game between the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes and No. 8 Wisconsin Badgers at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
BTN shared the footage on Twitter:
J.K. Dobbins and Jonathan Taylor have a lot in common.
1. They're All-B1G first-team RBs
2. They can hurt you on the ground.
3. They can hurt you as a receiver.@CoachUrbanMeyer & @gerrydinardo break down how the RBs hurt defenses.#B1GFCG pic.twitter.com/CVPEE8FZus— Big Ten Network (@BigTenNetwork) December 7, 2019
Lining up alongside sophomore quarterback Justin Fields, junior J.K. Dobbins has eclipsed 1,000 yards on the ground in each of his three seasons in Columbus. Passing Ezekiel Elliott during the Buckeyes’ victory over the No. 14 Michigan Wolverines on November 30, he trails only two-time Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin on the program’s all-time rushing list.
Largely due to the lethal combination of Fields and Dobbins, Ohio State leads the nation in scoring at 49.9 points per game.
Also a junior, Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor has a realistic shot at his second straight 2,000-yard season. After running for 1,977 yards as a freshman in 2017, he posted 2,194 yards on 7.1 yards per carry a year ago.
Kicking at 8:00PM ET on FOX, Saturday’s action will have Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt and “The All-American Girl” Jenny Taft on the call.
