Money is everything.
Well, just about everything. And $570,000 isn’t exactly chump change.
To be exact, $570,507.68 is what Urban Meyer lost out on due to his three-game suspension. This information was provided by school documents, which were obtained by USA Today Sports.

That has to hurt. Even if you’re Meyer. The Buckeyes coach is set to make at least $7.6 million this year, so the $570,000 or so that he missed out on is roughly 7.5 percent of his annual pay. Again, that hurts.
But, if you take that $570,000 away, Meyer’s still making over $7 million this year. That isn’t too bad.
According to the documents, Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith, who was also suspended for 17 days, lost out on $60,711.16. Also, on Sept. 30, thanks to Ryan Day — Ohio State’s interim head coach while Meyer was suspended — and his added duties on game days, he is set to receive a one-time payment of $487,000.
Again, that will work.
