The battles between Michigan State and Ohio State over the past decade have been tough, classic B1G fights. It’s been the type of football you’d expect to see from two heavyweight programs slugging it out for a conference title regularly.

Saturday should be no different, as the No. 12 Spartans travel to Columbus to battle the No. 13 Buckeyes for the lead in the B1G East.

The two teams are coming off drastically different weekends. Michigan State won a thrilling 27-24 game over Penn State with a last-second field goal while Ohio State was crushed 55-24 by Iowa. But both squads have put last week in the rearview mirror and are only focused on the week ahead.

On Wednesday, Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer met with the media to talk about his team’s preparation this week, as well as the toughness and physicality that will be on the field Saturday.

“They are intent on stopping the run and we are going to be intent on running the ball,” Meyer said in the press conference. “These games are won or lost up front.”
