KJ Hamler is having a strong season with the Nittany Lions, and his impressive score against Maryland was highlighted by Urban Meyer.
The former Ohio State head coach and analyst for FOX Sports sat down recently to discuss Hamler’s game against the Terrapins. After Hamler had just three offensive touches against Pittsburgh, Meyer was impressed with how Penn State got the ball to Hamler against Maryland.

One play, in particular, drew a rave review from Meyer. It was Hamler’s long touchdown early in the game that was an exceptional individual effort. He took the pass off a short slant and then provided a litany of moves in the open field that allowed him to find the end zone.
Meyer labeled it one of the best plays of 2019, so far:
“This is one of the top plays of 2019, just on athleticism,” said Meyer. “You can tell it’s not a difficult play…This is called good recruiting…everyone has angles on him, but watch this juice though.”
Here’s Meyer’s analysis on the play and Hamler’s six-catch performance against Maryland:

Hopefully, Hamler can keep his strong play rolling. He has 16 catches for 353 yards and 3 TDs this season while averaging over 20 yards per catch.
