Another B1G head coach and his team will be taking part in Iowa’s new first quarter tradition on Saturday afternoon.
On Thursday, Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer was asked on his radio show whether he and the Buckeyes would participate in Iowa’s new tradition of waving to patients in the children’s hospital that overlooks Kinnick Stadium.
Meyer didn’t hesitate to answer.
“We’re honored to take part in that,” Meyer responded.

That positive response comes just one week after Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck said that waving to the children’s hospital was his “favorite tradition in college football.”
Everyone, from fans to officials, media members to opposing players, has taken part in waving to the children watching the game in the hospital that overlooks the stadium. Many stories and video features have been done on the new tradition, highlighting just how truly special that short time of recognition truly is for everybody.
Ohio State and Iowa will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN.
