Urban Meyer sends clear message to Jacksonville Jaguars fans for upcoming season

Urban Meyer might be new to the NFL, but he knows exactly what he wants to see inside TIAA Bank Field during the 2021 season. He wants the city of Jacksonville supporting the Jaguars.
The first-time NFL head coach sent a clear message to Jaguars fans heading into the 2021 season. He does not want to see fans of opposing teams in the stands.
“We’re gonna own this thing,” Meyer said, per Pro Football Talk. “When I say we I mean everybody. That’s our stadium. I’m done hearing about other fans coming in our stadium. That shit’s gotta stop. That’s our stadium, this is our city, and it is our team. Own it.”
Meyer has had no trouble earning fan support at his stops in college football. Florida and Ohio State not only have great fan support in their home cities, they also traveled well. He’s not used to being outnumbered in a stadium.
Fan support in Jacksonville has dwindled over the last few years. The Jaguars have had just one winning season since 2007, a 10-6 year in 2017. Last year, the team finished with a 1-15 record, prompting a change at head coach.
There’s a lot of enthusiasm with Meyer taking over and Trevor Lawrence being the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft. We’ll see if it results in more fan support.
