USC hasn’t missed a beat under Lincoln Riley as they attempt to continue the program’s momentum despite losing their top playmaker, QB Caleb Williams, who was selected by the Chicago Bears with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft last April.

As the team gets off to a strong start, the Trojans are also hot on the recruiting trail. USC earned a commitment from 4-star linebacker Ty Jackson on Sunday afternoon.

Jackson took an official visit this weekend to watch USC pummel Utah State 48-0.

Jackson is the No. 13 linebacker in the class of 2025, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the 95 overall prospect in this class. He chose the Trojans despite offers from SEC powerhouses like Georgia and Alabama and programs close to home like Florida and Florida State.

USC has looked impressive to start the 2024 campaign, with redshirt-junior QB Miller Moss looking like the next great QB that Riley has developed, with 607 yards and 2 touchdowns after 2 games this season.

But the USC’s defense may be the bigger story — after an offseason focused on adding new talent on that side of the ball through the transfer portal and young players from last season finding their groove — giving up just 20 points to LSU in Week 1 and shutting out Utah State in Saturday’s dominating win.

Here are some highlights from Jackson’s junior season:
