USC on Saturday gained a commitment from one of the top running backs in the 2026 cycle and a standout in the Southern California high school scene.
Deshone Redeaux, from national power Oaks Christian in Westlake Village, Calif., announced his pledge to the Trojans program in a video featuring the voice of Snoop Dogg. Redeaux was a member of Snoop Dogg’s Snoop Youth Football League as a child.
He picked USC over Michigan, Oregon, UCLA, Washington, and Georgia.
Redeaux is rated by 247Sports as the No. 12 running back in the class of 2026 and the No. 164 player overall. He’s also the No. 19 player in the state of California.
There’s still a long way to go, but with Redeaux in the fold, the Trojans currently have the No. 1 class in the country for the 2026 cycle, a group led by Gainesville (Ga.) athlete Xavier Griffin and cornerback RJ Sermons, the No. 4 player at his position.
As for Lincoln Riley, there’s not really any guarantees that he will still be around in 2026. After an 11-3 record in 2022, USC dropped to 8-5 in 2023 before a 7-6 mark in 2024, their first season in the Big Ten.
That said, Riley continues to recruit at a high level, and Redeaux is another key addition to the 2026 class.
