USC has added a new piece to its top-ranked 2026 recruiting class. The Trojans have landed a commitment from a blue-chip project previously pledged to a fellow former Pac-12 program.

Tomuhini Topui, a 4-star in-state defensive lineman, has committed to play for Lincoln Riley’s program. He shared the big news with Hayes Fawcett of On3.

Topui, from Inglewood, California, is out of prominent program Mater Dei. He is listed as measuring 6-3, 320 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Topui is rated 4-stars, the No. 15 player in the state of California, No. 15 defensive lineman and No. 130 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.

Topui is familiar with another western Big Ten program. He took an unofficial visit to Oregon on Oct. 12 and then verbally committed to Dan Lanning’s program on Oct. 13.

While verbally committed to Oregon, Topui attended the Trojans’ Junior Day on Feb. 8. On March 10, he took an unofficial visit to USC.

Topui was still committed to Oregon when he took an unofficial visit to Miami on March 15. He formally backed off his verbal commitment to Oregon on March 25.

The Trojans have the No. 1 recruiting class for 2026 on the Composite. Topui gives Riley’s staff 18 verbal commitments. USC fans unfamiliar with Topui at Mater Dei can get a preview of what he brings to the program by watching his junior highlights below, via Hudl:
