Chasen Johnson is once again committed to USC.
Johnson, a transfer cornerback from UCF, has pledged to continue his career with the Trojans. He made the announcement on Sunday with the help of On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
There’s a bit of a history between Johnson and USC. It’s not the first time he committed to play for Lincoln Riley’s program.
Johnson played his freshman season at UCF. He entered the transfer portal during the winter window and committed to play for the Trojans.
After committing to USC, Johnson changed his mind. He decided to remain with UCF for spring practice.
In the spring window, Johnson decided to enter the portal again. Like last time, Johnson’s portal entry resulted in him verbally committing to USC.
In 2024, Johnson made 12 appearances for UCF. He logged starts against BYU, UA, ASU, and Utah. As a true freshman, Johnson recorded 18 total tackles, including 14 solo stops, and 2 pass breakups.
Johnson is from Sanford, Florida and played at Seminole High School. He made the move from wide receiver to cornerback in 2022 after missing time in his sophomore season due to injury. As a prospect, he was rated 3-stars, the No. 102 cornerback and No. 149 prospect in Florida. He had 19 scholarship offers.
