USC has landed the services of a former Notre Dame safety, a player with a last name that should be very familiar to many NFL fans.

Kennedy Urlacher, who spent a season with Notre Dame after signing with the Fighting Irish out of the class of 2024, has committed to the Trojans, according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz. Per Zenitz, Urlacher has spent the last 2 days with USC on a visit, precipitating his eventual commitment to Lincoln Riley’s program.

Urlacher, who played high school ball at Chandler High School outside of Phoenix, played in 14 games for the Irish as a true freshman, making 12 tackles and a tackle for a loss while being credited with a fumble recovery. He ultimately opted to enter the spring transfer portal ahead of his apparent decision to spend his sophomore season at USC.

As you might have guessed, his father is NFL legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher, who spent 13 seasons with the Chicago Bears while appearing in 8 Pro Bowls and being named first-team All-Pro 5 times.

His son is now looking to follow in his footsteps, with a college career that began in South Bend now set to continue in Los Angeles with the Trojans.
