A’Marion Peterson will reportedly look at using his 3 remaining seasons of college football eligibility elsewhere.

The spring window for the NCAA transfer portal is set to begin on April 16. Roughly 2 weeks out, however, decisions are already being made. 247Sports reports, per sources, that Peterson will enter the portal during the spring window.

Peterson is looking to leave the program after 2 seasons. He is entering his redshirt sophomore year of eligibility.

Last season, Peterson played in 10 games for the Trojans. He got the start in the Las Vegas Bowl clash with Texas A&M. For the year, Peterson logged 16 carries for 65 yards and 1 touchdown. The bulk of that production came in the bowl game (12 carries, 43 yards).

Peterson redshirted in 2023, his first season at USC. He played in 2 games during the ’23 season, rushing 2 times for 14 yards.

Peterson hails from Wichita Falls, Texas. Out of Hirschi High School he was rated 4-stars, the No. 24 running back, No. 64 player in the Lone Star State and No. 370 prospect overall in the Class of 2023 on the 247Sports Composite. He signed to play for Lincoln Riley over offers from Alabama, Missouri, Penn State, TCU, Texas and Wisconsin.

USC heads into 2025 with notable depth in the running back room. Peterson is the second 2024 RB to transfer, joining Quinten Joyner, who landed at Texas Tech after entering the portal in the winter window.
