Blake Anderson’s family has experienced significant loss in the past couple of years and tragedy hit his family again in 2022.

On Tuesday, Utah State Athletics shared on Twitter that Anderson and his family unexpectedly lost a son:

“On behalf of Utah State University, the athletics department and the football program, our thoughts and prayers are with coach Blake Anderson and his family following the tragic death of his son,” said John Hartwell, Utah State’s VP and AD via the release.

Anderson previously tweeted on Feb. 28 that God was still “God in the midst of our broken (heart).”

Anderson led Utah State to an 11-3 record and a win in the LA Bowl. He took over the Aggies after posting a 51-37 record at Arkansas State over 7 seasons.

Anderson previously lost his wife to breast cancer during the 2019 season and was honored with the FWAA Courage Award that season. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Anderson family during this recent tragedy.
