There’s a lot of football to be played between now and the 2022 NFL Draft, but Ohio State DB Sevyn Banks is already being treated like an elite NFL prospect.

According to Sportsbetting.Ag, Banks is a candidate to be picked No. 1 overall in next year’s draft. He’s the longest shot currently on the board at +3300.

Banks is the only Big Ten player who is currently in the conversation to be picked that highly.

Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler (+130), Oregon defensive lineman Kayvon Thibodeaux (+275) and North Carolina quarterback Sam Howell (+450) are the top three contenders.

Justin Fields was Ohio State’s lone first round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Buckeyes haven’t had the top overall pick since Orlando Pace in 1997. Both Chase Young and Nick Bosa went No. 2 overall in recent drafts.

Banks was a 4-star recruit in the class of 2018. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he was the No. 23 cornerback in that cycle.

During his three seasons with the Buckeyes, he’s compiled 35 tackles, two interceptions and 10 pass deflections.
