Several of college football’s top teams have already suffered defeats early in the 2021 season, which has caused a big shakeup in the betting odds.
Ohio State’s loss to Oregon in Week 2 was perhaps the most impactful, but Clemson defeat vs. Georgia and Wisconsin’s loss to Penn State in Week 1 have also made a difference.
On Tuesday, DraftKings released its updated betting odds for the 2021 National Champion. Here’s the updated odds for all the top teams:
Alabama | +180 |
Georgia | +330 |
Oklahoma | +750 |
Clemson | +800 |
Ohio State | +900 |

Iowa | +6000 |
Notre Dame | +6000 |
Cincinnati | +7500 |
Michigan | +7500 |
Iowa State | +8000 |
UCLA | +8000 |
Ole Miss | +10000 |

Of course, Alabama is the heavy favorite at +180. The Crimson Tide have already produced an impressive win over Miami this season and have another big game coming up against Florida in Week 3.
Ohio State’s odds dropped all the way down to +900 after its loss to the Ducks in Week 2. The Buckeyes were at +500 prior to that defeat.
Penn State (+4000) and Iowa (+6000) are both relative long shots for college football’s top prize despite each program boasting a ranked win and an undefeated record so far this season. The Hawkeyes, to their credit, have two ranked wins to open the season.
Penn State will have a chance to make a statement on Saturday as the Nittany Lions host Auburn.
