Michigan State will have a big test this upcoming weekend as they travel on the road to take on No. 24 Miami (FL).
According to DraftKings, the Spartans are an 8-point underdog against the Hurricanes. The total for the game is set at 56.5 points.
The Hurricanes will be the Spartans’ toughest opponent so far this season. Michigan State has defeated Northwestern on the road 38-21 in Week 1 and at home versus Youngstown State 42-14 this past weekend.
The Hurricanes were dominated by No. 1 Alabama 44-13 in Week 1 and were nearly upset by Appalachian State, barely hanging on 25-23 last weekend.
This upcoming game on Saturday will be the fifth-ever meeting between the two schools. The Hurricanes have won all the previous matchups. The last time the two programs met on the field was in 1989, when Michigan State lost 26-20.
This game will be a great chance to jumpstart a potential Heisman Trophy campaign for sophomore running back Kenneth Walker III. In just two games this season, Walker has rushed for 321 yards and five touchdowns on 30 carries for an average of 10.7 yards per rush.
The Hurricanes have a potentially dangerous offense led by dual-threat quarterback D’Eriq King that could be troublesome for Michigan State’s defense.
