Michael Penix Jr.’s injury is creating a lot of uncertainty for Indiana and the initial point spreads for this weekend’s Big Ten games indicate this concern for the Hoosiers.
Despite coming into the weekend 5-1 following a 27-11 win on Saturday against Maryland, the No. 12 Hoosiers opened as two-touchdown underdogs at No. 18 Wisconsin this weekend. The Badgers are 2-1 on the season as COVID-19 has wrecked their schedule.
Penix was injured and left Saturday’s game. He did not return.
Also, Michigan (2-4) is a favorite to beat Maryland, despite losing this weekend to previously winless Penn State (1-5).
And speaking of the Nittany Lions, they are favored at Rutgers (2-4), who had an impressive road win against Purdue (2-3)
Here are where the lines opened at Vegas Insider:
- Michigan (-5) vs Maryland
- Ohio State (-24) vs Michigan State
- Purdue (-2) vs Nebraska
- Penn State (-9) vs Rutgers
- Northwestern (-9) vs Minnesota
- Wisconsin (-14) vs Indiana
- Iowa (-12) vs Illinois
Northwestern (5-1) is favored to return back into the win column despite being upset 29-20 at Michigan State (2-3) on Saturday.
