It’s not too often that fans get the behind-the-scenes look at the moment when a player receives that phone call. But thanks to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Ohio State, we get to see it.

Saturday, former Ohio State and current Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer picked up the phone to call former Buckeyes tight end Luke Farrell. The message? Jacksonville was taking the TE with the first selection in the fifth round of the draft.

Farrell and his family couldn’t believe their ears. It provided a priceless moment on Saturday afternoon.

Here’s the clip that was shared of the phone call between Meyer and Farrell:

Farrell was a Meyer recruit at Ohio State, joining the team as a member of the 2016 recruiting class. He earned a lot of playing time for his blocking ability, but also showcased the ability to catch passes while on the field.

In four seasons, Farrell hauled in 34 catches for 380 yards and 4 touchdowns. His best year came in 2018, when he tallied 205 yards and a touchdowns on 20 receptions.

Now, Farrell is headed to Jacksonville where he hopes to carve out a role with the Jaguars.
