Just when you thought you’d seen everything in college football, the sport throws something your way you’d never thought possible.
Tuesday night, a village in Illinois and the Bahamas Bowl came to an agreement on sponsorship, making Elk Grove Village the title sponsor for this year’s event.
Go ahead and read that as many times as you’d like. That’s not a mistake, it’s actually happening.
According to a press release. Elk Grove Village will be using its business slogan — Makers Wanted — as the title sponsor for the 2018 Bahamas Bowl. The release also states that the slogan is the community’s call-to-action.
“This is the first time a non-tourist municipality has ever sponsored a bowl game”

Per the release, Elk Grove Village is home to the largest industrial park in the United States. This will also be the first time an non-tourist municipality has ever sponsored a bowl game.
And you thought the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl was awesome.
Is this a sign that there are too many bowl games in college football? Or is it just the fact that this sport is just as unpredictable as ever?
Either way, history was made before the 2018 season even kicked off.
