Maryland will be in the Bronx on Wednesday afternoon to take on Virginia Tech in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl. Virginia Tech put a unique twist on its helmet for the bowl game.

The New Era Pinstripe Bowl pits the B1G and the ACC against each other in the famous Yankee Stadium. The Hokies have decided to put the famous Yankee logo on one side of their helmet.

Virginia Tech had a disappointing season as the Hokies finished the year 6-6 and 4-4 in ACC play. After six seasons, the Hokies fired head coach Justin Fuente after a 43-31 overall mark. The Hokies have hired former Penn State DC Brent Pry as their next head coach.

Maryland is going to its 1st bowl game since 2016, and it’s the first one in the Mike Locksley era. The Terrapins finished 6-6 and 3-6 in B1G play. Locksley is 12-23 in 4 years with the Terrapins.

On Wednesday, Dec. 29, Maryland faces Virginia Tech in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl at 2:15 ET on ESPN.
