The radio voice of the Auburn Tigers, Rod Bramblett and his wife, Paula, were killed in a car accident over the weekend, according to multiple reports.

According to a report from OANow.com, the accident involved an SUV driven by the Brambletts and another SUV, driven by a 16-year-old. Rod Bramblett was airlifted to the UAB Hospital in Birmingham and Paul Bramblett was rushed to East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

The teen was in serious condition and was also transported to the East Alabama Medical Center.

Sunday morning, Auburn released a statement on the passing of the Brambletts.

“Rod Bramblett, the Voice of the Auburn Tigers, and his wife, Paula, were involved in a serious car accident early Saturday evening in Auburn,” the statement read. “We ask the Auburn Family to keep the Bramblett family in your thoughts and prayers.”

Rod Bramblett was a part of the Auburn broadcast crew for over 30 years and was the play-by-play voice for football and men’s basketball since 2003.
