The Badgers were up 2-0 through 4 innings. Georgia Tech, however, took a 6-2 lead. The Badgers rallied in their final 2 at-bats, scoring 2 in the bottom of the 6th inning and 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning.
Wisconsin moves on to the regional final against Florida, the host team and No. 14 overall national seed. UF is 2-0 in the regional, meaning the Badgers need 2 victories to win the regional and advance to the program’s first-ever Super Regional.
The Wisconsin-Georgia Tech game was supposed to be completed Saturday, but the weather in Gainesville did not cooperate. The NCAA announced Sunday that if Wisconsin forces a Game 7 in the regional, it will not take place Sunday, as originally scheduled. Instead of forcing the Badgers to potentially play 3 games in a day, the NCAA says Game 7 would take place Monday.
If the #Badgers beat Florida, the elimination game would be Monday, not later today. https://t.co/1gWmRrdlTr
