Washington DC Jimmy Lake compares Dwayne Haskins to future HOFer

Anyone that has watched Ohio State this season knows Dwayne Haskins is for real. Still, this comparison by Washington’s defensive coordinator may be one of the best compliments Haskins has received all year.
The Huskies and Buckeyes are set to square off in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day in a matchup of opposites. Washington enters after winning the Pac-12 on the strength of its defense while Ohio State rode Haskins and a high-flying offense to the B1G title.
Haskins finished third in Heisman Trophy voting this season after a truly remarkable performance. He completed 70.2% of his passes while throwing for 4,580 yards and 47 TDs to just eight interceptions.
When asked to compare Haskins to another player, Huskies DC Jimmy Lake said Washington did not face a quarterback like Haskins in the Pac-12 this season. However, he compared Haskins to Pittsburgh Steelers QB and future HOFer Ben Roethlisberger from Lake’s time in the NFL.
Dan Hope with 11 Warriors shared Lake’s comments:
Asked Washington defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake if there was anyone he would compare Dwayne Haskins to. He says they didn’t face anyone quite like him in the Pac-12 this year, but from his time coaching in the NFL, Haskins reminds him of Ben Roethlisberger.

That is certainly a high compliment, considering Roethlisberger is a six-time Pro-Bowler and two-time Super Bowl champion. Lake spent time coaching in the NFL with Tampa Bay and Detroit.
Who would you compare Haskins to at the next level?
