Washington Football Team benching former Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins

Dwayne Haskins’ run as the starting quarterback for the Washington Football Team in 2020 has come to an end, at least for now.
Several outlets, including Sam Fortier of the Washington Post, reported that Haskins has been benched and that the team will start Kyle Allen in this weekend’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Washington is currently 1-3 on the season.

Haskins won the starting job entering the 2020 season and got off to a solid start, leading Washington a 27-17 comeback win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. In that game, he completed 17-of-31 pass attempts for 178 yards and a touchdown with no interception.
It’s been rough since that opening week.
Washington has lost the last three games, falling to the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens, all double-digit losses. Haskins has thrown 3 touchdown passes with 3 interceptions over that period.
In last week’s loss to Baltimore, Haskins completed 32-of-45 passes for 314 yards.
Fortier also reported that Haskins will not be the backup quarterback on Sunday, either. Behind Allen will be Alex Smith at No. 2 on the depth chart.
