Washington QB Jake Browning on Ohio State: ‘I don’t think they can stop our passing attack’

Trash talk is welcomed in the world of sports.

It’s just, well, what happens before any game. Especially in big games — the big mouths get talking.

In the world of college football, it’s bowl season. They’re exhibition games. Let’s not kid ourselves.

However, it’s still a football game being played. Even if games were played in backyards — athletes at this level just want to win no matter what is at stake.

The Rose Bowl, featuring Ohio State and Washington, is essentially a glorified exhibition game. But again, it’s the Rose Bowl. It’s different. It’s special.

It means a lot to certain people.

Call Washington QB Jake Browning one of those people. He seems to care enough about the game to talk some pretty big trash against the Buckeyes:

It’s one thing to talk a little smack. It’s another thing to basically say that your opposition won’t be able to stop you.

What does that mean? A Washington victory by 30, 40, maybe 50 points? If Ohio State literally couldn’t stop Washington’s offense, the Huskies may put up 70 points.

Is that what we’re in store for?

We’ll find out at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1. Our guess is that Washington won’t be hanging 70 on Ohio State — its season-high is 45 against North Dakota.
