Washington football faces a tough challenge on Saturday against No. 1 Ohio State, but that battle might have just gotten even tougher.

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel Saturday morning, the Huskies are likely to be without star corner Tacario Davis, who is listed as doubtful. Davis, who transferred to Washington from Arizona this past offseason, has not played since Week 2 against UC Davis.

Even if Davis was able to go, Ohio State’s wide receivers were going to be a force to be reckoned with. The Buckeyes feature Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate, plus a few powerful tight ends such as Max Klare and Will Kacmarek. Without Davis, someone is going to have to step up in the Washington secondary.

The Huskies offense can keep Washington in this one for a limited time – the question is whether they can consistently move the ball against what is sure to be a violent Ohio State defensive front. The Buckeyes already shut down Texas in Week 1, but Washington may be the toughest offense they’ve had to face so far this season.

Saturday’s game between the Huskies and Buckeyes is set to kick off at Noon PT, 3:30 p.m. ET from Husky Stadium in Seattle.
