We’re still in the first quarter of the national championship game and we’re already experiencing a high-scoring affair.
After throwing an interception on Alabama’s first possession — a pick-six courtesy of Clemson’s A.J. Terrell — Tua Tagovailoa redeemed himself, putting the Crimson Tide on the scoreboard with a beautiful touchdown pass to Jerry Jeudy.
Tagovailoa launched a beautiful pass downfield to Jeudy, who caught the pass in stride, shed a Clemson defender and scooted to the end zone. The touchdown tied the game at 7-7.

That touchdown pass was the 42nd of the season for Tagovailoa. It was Jeudy’s 14th touchdown catch of the year.
Alabama didn’t get off to the ideal start, but Nick Saban has to be happy with his team’s response after the early pick-six.
