WATCH: Anthony McFarland picks up where he left off, scores first TD of Terps’ spring game

Arguably one of the most underrated players in the B1G last season was Anthony McFarland. Because of Maryland’s 5-7 record, he really didn’t get the recognition he deserved.
McFarland finished the season with 1,034 rushing yards and four touchdowns as a freshman, one of nine B1G running backs to hit the 1,000-yard milestone. And during Saturday’s spring game, he appears to have picked up right where he left off.
During Saturday’s spring game, McFarland was the first to score for the Terrapins, speeding past defenders 34 yards to the end zone for the touchdown.

McFarland’s biggest performances came late in the season in back-to-back weeks in November. He rushed for 210 yards against Indiana and then totaled 298 yards and two touchdowns the following week against Ohio State.
He averaged 10.2 yards per carry in those two contests.
There’s a new coaching staff in town and a new offensive scheme the Terrapins will be embracing. But none of it seems to be slowing down McFarland.
