Winning championship apparently isn’t much of a factor to Joshua Perry when it comes to picking the best college football teams. The former Buckeyes linebacker said Friday that the 2015 Ohio State squad was better than the 2014 team even though the program won the National Championship in 2014.

“Not the ’14 that won the championship, the ’15 Buckeyes. When you look at that team, the amount of talent that was there was immense. We had 12 guys, I believe that year, who got drafted, and all but two or three guys who actually played on that team took active snaps in the NFL.

“The best team doesn’t always win. We had a night against Michigan State where we came out. We weren’t prepared.”

Check out his full explanation:

By the use of his pronouns, readers can tell Perry was on the 2015 team, so he’s probably a little bias, but he’s right about the talent on the 2015 squad. Ezekiel Elliott, Michael Thomas, Joey Bosa, Taylor Decker, Pet Elfein, Eli Apple, Malik Hooker, and Darron Lee are just some of the players from the 2015 Ohio State roster that went on to experience success in the NFL.

Of course, a lot of those players were on the 2014 team as well.
