The love for Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm is pouring in at the midway point of the season.
With the Boilermakers sitting at 3-2 on the year, Brohm has earned plenty of credit for getting this team to a much more competitive level, especially considering Purdue won just nine games in the previous four seasons. For many, he’s the early candidate for the B1G Coach of the Year.
That goes for Big Ten Network analyst Chuck Long, too.
BTN’s Rick Pizzo and Long were discussing the topic of the B1G’s Coach of the Year through the halfway mark of the season. Both agreed that, because of the improved play from Purdue, Brohm is at the top of the list:

Not only are the Boilermakers above the .500 mark, they’ve been much more competitive in games against ranked opponents, playing Louisville down to the wire in Week 1, and giving Michigan a battle through three quarters to open B1G play.
Purdue is just two games into its conference schedule and there’s still plenty of football to be played. But if the Boilers continue to play as well as they have through the first six weeks, Brohm will definitely be in the Coach of the Year conversation at the end of the season.
