Brian Lewerke doesn’t get the credit he deserves. But if he continues to make plays like this, the Michigan State quarterback will be mentioned with some of the best in the sport.

Early in the second half, the Arizona State defense was able to break through the offensive line, putting plenty of pressure on Lewerke. But the junior was able to avoid the sack and threw a dart off of his back foot, finding Darrell Steward for a huge gain down the field.

It got the Spartans in scoring position early in the third quarter.

It didn’t result in a touchdown or a spectacular catch, but it was still a pretty impressive play from Lewerke.

Michigan State was able to turn the big gain into three points with a field goal attempt.
