It’s never too early for some Big Ten power rankings.

Former college football and NFL coach and BTN analyst Dave Wannstedt released his own B1G rankings Wednesday with Michigan again topping his list. Ohio State, Iowa, and Penn State followed next at No. 2-4, respectively.

Wannstedt admitted it’s important to remember that it’s only been one week, and for that reason, there wasn’t a lot of movement on his power rankings from last week.

“I kept Michigan No. 1. I got them as winning the Big Ten,” said Wannstedt. “I got them as a final four team. I’m a loyal guy, so I’m going to stay with them. Did they look more impressive than Ohio State? Probably not. Maybe they weren’t as impressive as Penn State or Maryland if you want to just look at numbers and big plays.

“But I’m going to stick with Michigan.”

Here is his complete list and a video with his full explanations:

  1. Michigan
  2. Ohio State
  3. Iowa
  4. Penn State
  5. Wisconsin
  6. Michigan State
  7. Maryland
  8. Nebraska
  9. Northwestern
  10. Illinois
  11. Indiana
  12. Minnesota
  13. Rutgers
  14. Purdue
